Thai Siam was one of my more favorite Thai restaurants in Utah (Little Thai in San Francisco will always be my favorite) however our last visit didn't prove good enough for a return until it came time to do this review.
Tonight's visit showed that little had changed, a new color of paint on one wall, a menu re-written to provide a better description of the dishes.
Service was horrible, arriving at 6:10 pm I expected prompt service, and our waiter disappointed because after we were seated it was about 15 minutes before he appeared to take our order.
We ordered the same dishes as our last visit, Yum Ta-Lay (Seafood Salad), Gang Ga Ree (Yellow Curry with Potato and Chicken) and Pad Gra Prow (Basil, Chicken and Peppers).
Other than delivering our food, we didn't see our waiter again, a hostess topped our water once however our drinks were never refilled despite my dinner guest slurping on his ice, loudly a couple of times.
The Yum -Ta-Lay was good, although the seafood could have been chilled a bit longer. The curry however resembled more of a paste, with only a few pieces of chicken and three mini carrot pieces. The Pad Gra Prow was wonderful, its flavor is a bit spicy, sweet and peppery.
Still one of the better Thai restaurants in Utah, however it's still not on my frequent dinner list.
Overall rating is a B+
