Little World Restaurant Offers Great Food, in a Fast Food Setting
The Review
Little World Restaurant is one of Salt Lake City's better if not best Chinese dives in the city.
It's very small, or intimate, not a fancy place by any means with little in the way of decor and looking more like a converted Arby's or abandoned Mc Donalds than your typical Chinese establishment.
With all the new places opening up nearby on State Street recently it appears that Little World decided to re-paint the place, give it a few new tables and recover the bench seats in the (6) booths, a welcome change but it still looks basically the same.
Servers at Little World are never personable, and varying an order in any way is typically met with an attitude, or simply ignored. Still Little World comes through on good food at a good price.
A large lunch platter with egg drop soup, your choice of entree, ham fried rice, egg roll, fried fantail shrimp and two fried won tons come in at under $6.00 per person. Dinner portions are fair, usually well under $10.00 even for their seafood dishes.
I suggest an order of the Seafood with Pan Fried Noodles, and the Shrimp Fried Rice (the best in the city). The egg drop soup has been Americanized, and comes with too many add-ins, corn, veggies, noodles and such make it less than good but from what I hear their hot and sour is great.
If you haven't given Little World a try yet, stop in sometime.
