Finns Restaurant, Breakfast and Lunch Served on the Patio
The Review
Finns Restaurant was originally located on Parleys Way and attached to the Country Club Motel. Opened in 1952, originally as a breakfast, lunch and dinner establishment, a unique requirement of their lease. It’s owners purchased the building in 1955. After which they changed to dinners only, dropping breakfast and lunch for continental fine dining style dinner service.
I remember my Grandmother proclaiming it “an event” every time they went to Finns. Luckily for us Finns lives on in a vision by their son "Finn" in its new location on 1100 East. Nowadays it’s breakfast and lunch’s served table side, complete with cloth napkins, silver and friendly service.
The building Finns remodeled into the open diner is tasteful with pale wood ceilings and soft colors throughout the restaurant that seemingly encourage you to slow down and enjoy the meal.
Finns has taken great pains to make everything on the menu affordable while using freshly made products, everything even the baked goods are made in-house using only quality ingredients.
On this day we tried one order of the pasta special of the day, a fresh mix of asparagus, tomato and a light Alfredo style sauce topped with a grilled chicken breast. It was easily portioned enough for a light lunch for two.
We regret not trying some of the house specialties, like the trout breakfast which we have heard is excellent but that leaves another day to return to Finn’s, maybe again this coming spring when we can snag one of the patio tables.
