Nicks Cafe has been around for 20+ years, located in an industrial section of Salt Lake along 300 West, and open only for breakfast and lunch so the opportunity to drop in is limited. Today was that day so we went, not knowing what to expect.
Nicks is best described as a cafe, or a traditional a greasy spoon. The menu prices were a little high with a burger being well over $7.00.
The food came quick, and was as expected. The garlic burger was hand formed and hung well over the edge of the bun. The daily special, a hamburger steak smothered in onions, potatoes and gravy did not disappoint however the potatoes were of an instant variety.
My opinion is that the place would be better served up as a meat and three rater than menu selections, and at the price it is not someplace that many can include in their daily routine.
