Though Wingers Restaurant is known for chicken wings, it’s honey dipped spicy wings, it also has a number of items on its menu many with its signature sauce, i.e. the honey spicy sauce.
I personally overindulged, eating one-too many times at this well-known Salt Lake City eatery to a point that the thought of eating at Wingers again was not likely. After an almost 2 year break, I ventured back on November 8th, 2008 for another try at it.
Sticking (pun intended) to the Chicken Wings (All You Can Eat $9.99 and $10.99) which comes with ample fries, and a side of coleslaw. (I skip the slaw, if its not my Aunt Audrey coleslaw, I don’t want it on my plate). My partner opted for the sampler plate, which included wings and potato skins.
Popcorn, always included while you wait is NOT a good choice for my partner, who could down a tub of popcorn in the time it took to get dinner delivered to the table.
The sample plate, with potato skins was a good choice, if not a healthy choice. The potato skins were loaded, served with a cool sour cream dip. Well, the wings were as I remembered, nothing overly special when it comes to wings. I prefer southern style, hot and spicy with a base of pepper sauce, yet crispy from the deep frying. As long as I don’t over do it, a visit once, …maybe twice a year to Wingers Restaurant is still an option on the table.
