Located a couple blocks from the 24th Street viaduct in Ogden is Soul & Bones Barbecue Restaurant, a must try for barbecue aficionados and fans of good barbecue.
Soul & Bones delicious meats are smoked on-site by proprietor and Chef John Dearmin and everything is made in-house fresh daily. Items tend to have a Cajun or Louisianan edge, the blackened fish and meats are authentic with the spices being another hands on creation by the Chef.
Appetizers include fried pickles, fried okra and crawfish beignets made fresh to order. The dipping sauce is out-of-this-world. I don’t like pickles but I couldn’t resist emptying out the basket of hot pickle chips.
The family platters consist of ample portions of an assortment of the top items from the menu. You can also choose from entrées, sandwiches and side dishes aplenty with one or more daily specials created at Chefs choice from fresh, seasonally available selections.
Whatever you choose, be sure to add some sauce which is also made on-site, a special recipe by Chef John. You might even want to buy a pint to take home.
