Lunch at Yellowfin was literally a last minute decision after going to Bajio Mexican Grill a few blocks west and finding a wait staff that was, well let's just say 'less than personable'. Enough so, that we chose to dine elsewhere.
Located in the far east corner of the Sugar House Commons plaza, Yellowfin seemed like a small intimate place. Yellowfin's interior space is surprisingly well appointed, a very beautiful space.
Late for lunch, too early for a full dinner and about an hour to early for the 'Hammer Time' appetizer specials from 3-5pm we opted for an appetizer of pork filled Pot Stickers and a Shrimp Tempura.
Service was quick, which was good as there was only one other occupied table. The wait staff friendly (ahem.. Bajio's) and service to the water glasses was not missing.
The Pot Stickers were nice, light and crispy. The Shrimp Tempura had an assortment of veggies that included asparagus. Very delicious and a nice surprise from the more common sweet potato and green pepper or broccoli.
The music selection was a bit different, but I liked it. I will definitely try the place out again, maybe even try some of the sushi next time.
My only complaint was the trouble with getting a receipt.. we never did.
