The Bayou Restaurant on State Street in downtown Salt Lake City serves up Utah’s largest selection of beers and lagers from around the world. With up to 200 different varieties at any one time The Bayou’s beer selection is unsurpassed at least in Utah.
The food isn’t half bad either though I expected a larger portion for an entrée. Service was outstanding, quick and attentive. Drinks were plentiful and always full. The Bayou also offers a full bar of mixed beverages both brand label and private selections.
Live music, or rather loud music is frequently part of the evening and on weekends. Lunch is a little more laid back and often quieter if you need to discuss business with a client.
Try the 50/50 appetizer fries, half Idaho spuds, the other sweet potatoes. The Asian roll was also delicious and the sauce fantastic.
Parking can be a problem, plan on a short walk on busy nights. Reservations are accepted, average wait times can be 25 minutes to an hour or more on weekends or when the live entertainment is better known.
